Quick summary: Krissy Banx helps kids learn to save. Accounts for children must be created and managed by a parent or guardian. Points in the app are an educational scoring tool — not real money and not held by us. Our shop sells real physical products, with payment handled securely by Stripe. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Krissy Banx website, mobile app, physical products, workshops, and related services (the "Services"). By using the Services — or by allowing a child in your care to use them — you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.
Krissy Banx is designed for children, but a child may only use the Services through an account created and supervised by a parent, legal guardian, or authorized school. If you are a grown-up agreeing to these Terms, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old and have authority to act for the child you are setting up. Children may not create accounts on their own.
Points and badges are an educational scoring and motivation tool. They are not legal tender, not redeemable for cash from Krissy Banx, and have no monetary value. Savings figures and challenges (for example, the $1,000, $5,050, and $10,000 challenges) simply help your family track and celebrate real money that you are saving — Krissy Banx does not hold, custody, transfer, or invest any real funds on behalf of children or families. Any real money your family saves stays with you (for example, in a physical savings box or, later, in an account at a partner bank).
The "open a real bank account" step is a guided handoff to a third-party partner financial institution. Krissy Banx is not a bank and does not provide banking, deposit, or financial-advisory services. Any account you open is governed by the partner's own terms and is subject to their eligibility requirements. We may receive a referral relationship with partners; we will disclose this where required.
Our shop sells physical goods such as savings kits and boxes, tees, cards, and our book. The following terms apply to shop orders:
Schools and educators using Classroom Mode or booking workshops agree to obtain any consents required under applicable law, to use the Services only for legitimate educational purposes, and to comply with our school-specific terms. Student data is handled as described in our Privacy Policy (Schools & FERPA).
When using the Services, you and your child agree not to:
Krissy Banx's social features are intentionally limited to keep children safe: there is no open chat, no direct messaging, and no public real names. The only thing a child can share with other children is a "tattle" (a short tip for filling a savings box), and children choose these from a library of pre-approved options. Any free-text idea a child suggests is sent to our team for review and is never shown to another child unless and until we approve it. Children and guardians can report anything that seems inappropriate — reported content is hidden automatically pending our review — and a child can block tips from another child. We remove content and may suspend accounts that violate these Terms.
The Services, including the Krissy Banx name, logo, mascot, content, and software, are owned by Krissy Banx or our licensors and are protected by law. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Services for their intended purpose. You may not copy, sell, or create derivative works from our content without permission. Content your child creates (such as reflections) remains yours; you grant us a limited license to host and display it solely to operate the Services.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information, with special protections for children under COPPA. By using the Services you acknowledge that Policy.
The Services rely on third parties to work — for example, the Apple App Store and Google Play, Stripe (payments), our shipping-rate providers (EasyPost/Shippo), and any partner banks. We are not responsible for third-party services, and their own terms and privacy practices govern your use of them. Which third parties we use, and what data they receive, is described in our Privacy Policy.
The Services are provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Krissy Banx provides educational content and does not provide financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. We do not guarantee any particular savings outcome.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Krissy Banx and its team will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost savings, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Services. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us for the Services in the 12 months before the claim, or $100, whichever is greater. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some may not apply to you.
You may stop using the Services and delete your account at any time (see Delete Account). We may suspend or end access if these Terms are violated or to protect users, the Services, or the law. We will give notice where reasonable. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (such as intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability) will continue to apply.
We may update these Terms from time to time. If changes are material, we will provide reasonable notice (for example, by email or in the app). Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State in which Krissy Banx is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. We hope to resolve any concerns informally first — please contact us. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have under mandatory consumer-protection laws that apply to you.
